Well well well, neighbors… I was just minding my business, watering my plants, when some tea rolled right down the street. And baby, it involves former NBA star Dwight Howard and his household.
According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly, a man claiming to be Howard’s former assistant has filed a lawsuit alleging unpaid wages and emotional distress. The man, Terrence Hudson, says he worked for Howard and his wife, Amy Luciani, as house security, domestic manager, and personal assistant from June to October 2025.
Now neighbors… Hudson claims he was supposed to be paid $2,000 a week, which would total over $30,000 for the time he worked. But he alleges he only received about $8,137.54 in payments during those 15 weeks.
Hudson says his duties weren’t small either. He claims he helped train Howard for the BIG3 league, drove him around, ran errands, and even handled food runs for the children in the household. According to the lawsuit, after going more than a month without pay, he says he was eventually forced to leave the home.
The former assistant says he later sent a certified letter asking for the remaining money he believes he’s owed, but the request was denied. Now he’s seeking $40,702.06 in damages, including alleged unpaid wages and emotional distress.
And neighbors… here’s where the tea gets even hotter. This lawsuit is popping up right as Howard recently filed for divorce from Luciani after just one year of marriage. In court filings dated March 9, Howard reportedly described the marriage as “irretrievably broken.”
Now listen… I’m just the Nosey Neighbor looking through the blinds, but this isn’t the first time Howard has faced claims like this. Back in 2020, two former employees also filed a lawsuit alleging unpaid wages, though that case was dismissed in 2023.
The current case is still pending, so we’ll have to see how it all plays out. But you already know one thing for sure…
The Nosey Neighbors will be watching. 👀☕
