The internet is in shambles (again) — this time over City Girls rapper JT, who’s facing heavy backlash after allegedly blocking a young fan battling cancer on Twitter.
It all started when a fan named Shaddai Randolph reached out publicly, tweeting:
“Hey JT, sorry to bother u. I know I’ve said this before, but I’m a fan of yours and I think you’re amazing and funny. Seeing u helps keep my spirits up when I’m in pain. I’m dying & have cancer. You said u would DM me but never did. I still would like to FaceTime u for 5 mins if possible. Luv u.”
Soon after, fans noticed Shaddai’s account claiming that JT had blocked her, and things got ugly fast. Screenshots spread like wildfire across X (formerly Twitter), with users calling the rapper “insensitive” and “heartless.” Others demanded an apology, while some defended JT — saying she probably thought the account was fake.
🗣️ JT Responds & Deactivates Twitter
Before long, JT deactivated her Twitter account entirely. But not before firing off a few tweets, including:
“THAT WAS A MISUNDERSTANDING BUT FOREAL NOW ITS F**K YALL!”
and another where she insisted she never meant harm:
“I followed her back & everything wtf… before I could actually get to call she was spamming me. I went through her page & thought it was fake!”
In a later Instagram Live, JT expanded on what went down, saying:
“I block people. I was in the middle of an argument… she was under my sht, people were arguing with her, there was too much going on. I would never say fk nobody with fing cancer. Get the f**k outta here.”
According to Rolling Out, The Jasmine Brand, and Capital XTRA, JT insisted she thought the account was a bot and said she deactivated Twitter because “everything I say and do now, I can’t even be happy in peace.”
💬 The Internet Reacts
Reactions have been divided. Some fans feel JT was wrong for not verifying before blocking the account:
“Even if it was fake, it costs nothing to show compassion,” one user wrote.
Others say the rapper has the right to protect her peace:
“Y’all act like celebs can’t make mistakes. She thought it was spam, calm down.”
Still, the incident reignited a broader conversation about how celebrities handle fan interactions online — especially when those fans are vulnerable or going through serious health struggles.
🕵🏽♀️ AGP’s Take
Look — we get it. The internet can be chaotic, and celebs get spammed every day. But when a fan says they’re dying, maybe a little empathy before hitting that block button would go a long way.
At the same time, JT’s frustration is understandable — the line between genuine support and trolling is blurrier than ever.
Either way, the situation is a reminder: the internet never forgets, and compassion always trends better than chaos. 💅🏽
What do y’all think, Nosey Gang?
Was JT wrong — or was this a messy misunderstanding gone viral? 👀
