This week’s episode of The Traitors proved one thing: the Faithfuls are still several steps behind — and Rob knows it.
The hour opened with Rob officially recruiting Eric (“Magical Ears”) as a Traitor, a move that multiple recaps described as “quietly dangerous.” Almost immediately, the Traitors set their sights on Dorinda, deciding she would cause confusion.
At breakfast, confusion ruled. Instead of questioning Rob’s growing control or the suspicious private conversation he shared with Candiace, the group zeroed in on Johnny, largely because of his closeness to Candiace. Several outlets pointed out that this moment perfectly captured the Faithfuls’ biggest flaw: focusing on visible relationships while ignoring strategic ones.
The episode’s featured challenge — the now-infamous box mission — only made things worse. While the Faithfuls remained trapped, the Traitors slipped out and selected Tara as the target name the group had to retrieve. What made this especially ironic was a conversation earlier in the episode where Kristen openly told Tara she suspected her of being a Traitor — a moment critics called “accidentally accurate, but completely wasted.”
Despite the chaos, the group won very little money, reinforcing what many recaps noted: poor strategy is now affecting both trust and the prize pot.
When asked to create a Traitors shortlist, the group landed on Tara, Johnny, Kristen, and Natalie. Shortly after, Tara and Johnny stopped pretending they weren’t close, confirming suspicions but also muddying the waters even more.
At the roundtable, Johnny successfully redirected suspicion onto Steven, leading to yet another incorrect vote. However, Kristen briefly cut through the noise, calling out Eric for being unusually quiet — a comment several recaps highlighted as one of the episode’s few smart reads.
The episode ended with a tense twist: the Traitors’ chosen players had to unwind a jack-in-the-box mechanism to determine who was murdered, adding drama — but not clarity.
Bottom line:
Rob continues to dominate the game, Eric remains dangerously under-the-radar, and the Faithfuls are mistaking proximity for proof. Until they start questioning private conversations and power dynamics, the Traitors are comfortably in control.
